My employer did a LMO for me and I now have a work permit that states I can only work for my current employer. Can you tell me what options do I have in case my employer decides to let me go from the job.

1. New Job, New LMO, New Work Permit, before you start work.

Thanks for your reply.

Do I get any time after I am laid off to stay in Canada and search for another job where the employer is willing to do my LMO?

You can stay until the present work permit expires.

Hi PMM,

Can you please share your knowledge on the case, where a candidate is working on LMO+Work Permit and his PR application is in process. If in meantime he get laid off we understand he can stay in canada to search work etc till expiry of his work permit, but does the lay off has any impact on his PR application ?

your reply will be much appreciated

Thanks
