Hello, I thank you in advance for any and all prompt replies.
I will graduate from college in November 2014, I am here as a temporary resident under a student permit and my visa goes until February 2015. I am to take a 6-month internship beginning February 2015, and this is obligatory for me, as it is part of my college's curriculum. This obligatory internship is a very positive thing to me, for my career.
Since it is an unpaid internship part of an academic curriculum, I am wondering if my employer will need an LMO in order to take me in for those 6 months. If so, how long does it take to obtain this document once the application has been sent? How much will this cost my employer?
Lastly: I have filled out the Internship Work Permit application document, but I am stuck since I do not have an LMO number, which it asks. My final question is: I can only apply for a work permit when I have an LMO? Please, a quick, comprehensive response is deeply appreciated.
