My husband and I have contacted a company in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan. My husband talks to a fella that actually works for the company. We have contacted them several times in regards to us working for them. We were informed that the job had to be advertised for at least 4 weeks to see if any Canadians would be willing to do the work. We started this process back in February 2014. The company told us they still have available jo s. It is now July and still no word on our LMO. We have been told that the company is still waiting on information about the LMO.
How long can this process take and is there anything we can do to help move along the process. ???

what kind of job is it?

hmmm... i've heard there could be scams for jobs like that. what proof did the employer provide they have applied? did they require you to pay anything?

They just told my husband over the phone that they had applied for it. . My husband was even called by the corporate office. My husband has talked to two managers there. The company is Midwest Steelhead in Saskatchewan. I don't think it's a scam. We have not had to pay anything except for our passports. I'm frustrated that we've spent money for that but not sure if we can move now. We had money saved up thinking it would only take a few months. Now that we've sold most of our stuff we are kind of screwed.

It really can take that long as well as there is no guarantee that they will get it. If one of you falls under NAFTA and you get a job that is under NAFTA, then you don't need an LMO, just a job offer. If one of you gets a skilled job, the other can come on a spouse permit.

Thank you for that information. I will check on the NAFTA to see about it. I was really looking forward to moving but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
We have also contacted an immigration lawyer. He is from Canada but resides in Texas now. Maybe we'll give him a call.
