Hello Everyone,
I'd appreciate some insights on a specific scenario. I'm currently on a pending asylum status in the U.S. and have received a C18 work permit offer from a Canadian healthcare employer (Nova Scotia Health). I'm trying to understand if my pending U.S. asylum status is likely to create significant issues or reduce my chances of approval for the Canadian work permit.

Has anyone here navigated a similar situation or can share insights on how Canadian immigration views pending asylum in the U.S. when considering a C18 work permit? Any guidance from professionals or those with experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!"

The permit is temporary. You have to show you’ll leave at the end of the permit and return to your country , the same country you’ve claimed asylum from

See how that could be an issue ?
You’ve received an offer , not actual work authorization. You could get the work permit , come here and claim asylum.
And not leave .
You have to show you’ll leave Canada at the end of your work permit . You never left the USA on whatever visa you entered , which doesn’t bode well for following immigration rules

And Canada has access to your USA claim
