Hello all,

I've been working for my company here in Canada since 2014. I've come up short in terms of points for Express Entry. And I see the LMIA as the best way to push my application into the required points.

Does the company that I work for have to advertise the position? Since I already work here and there is no need to because of that? If they were to advertise I don't think I would get an LMIA.

Any advice would be great! Thanks.

As per the information at this link, the job needs to be advertised. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/apply-who.asp

You should consider applying for a PR through the CEC, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

Will this be any benefit to me applying under that program? Under FSW I only have 396 points.

Why don't you study the program requirements and find out for yourself? You just might be eligible.
