Hi all,
I searched the forum and read the Canada Immigration carefully but I am confused here.

I am a Temporary Worker in Toronto. I was hired from my home country. They got LMIA, I got work permit and now I am here for 2 months. My job is NOC A level job.
I want to apply for PR now. Because I have LMIA supported job offer, I assume I can get 600 points which is enough for ItA. I didn't need to get my diplomas equality when I applied for WP. Do I need to get it now? I don't need the extra points but LMIA is for NOC A which is a professional level.

So I have 2 questions:
1- Do you know if I need the diploma equality from Canada? It takes few months.
2- Should I apply through Federal Skilled Worker program?

Thanks a lot.

There are a few things you need to understand. Express entry itself is not a PR program. It is just an entry system which is used to select who can apply for PR under any of existing PR programs.

a) There are minimum PR program requirements which you have to meet in order to apply. The programs are FSW, EE, PNP etc.

b) You need to score enough points in Express entry to score an ITA for one of above programs.

Now your LMIA based work permit for NOC A would get you 600 points which qualify easily for enough points on its own to get ITA.

But you need to meet minimum eligibility for ONE of PR programs.

The only program that does not require a university degree is CEC - needs one year of Canadian experience to qualify.

Since you have only been here for 2 months, you can only apply for FSW program for PR which requires at least one year of experience in the same domain ANY WHERE. Assuming you have that, you also need a university degree. Since yours is not Canadian, you need to get ECA (educational credential asessement).

Bottom line, either you wait and complete one year of full time Candian NOC A experience and then apply for PR via CEC express entry. You would still need to take language test and score minimum CELPIP 7 on every section of test.

You get an ECA now and apply via FSW. Language test requirement would remain the same as CEC.

Hey thanks a lot. That's the answer I was looking for.
I have both University and Masters degree. What I will do this week is:

1- Register to WES for degree assessment. I will only do this for the Bachelors since I do not need extra points for the Masters.
2- Register for earliest IELTS General exam both for me and my wife.
