LMIA rules?

I came to Canada on a LMIA job which keeps my visa to 2019. However I plan to quit my job soon so I assume that means I can stay in Canada until 2019 as long as I don't work?

If that is the case, how long can I leave Canada for (to visit home) but get back in? Or can I not get back in?

Sorry for the multiple questions. Any advice would be great :)

You have been granted a visa to live and work in Canada for that employer. If you cease to work for that employer, your visa gets canceled. You have to switch to another visa.

No - the visa is not canceled. The visa remains valid. The OP can remain in Canada while the work permit is valid legally - however obviously cannot work for a different employer.

Leaving and returning to Canada is a different and potentially more complicated matter. We'd have to know the OP's country of origin to accurately answer that question.

You need a valid ETA to return to Canada as a visitor in that case.

1, If the OP was issued a work permit after Aug. 1st 2015 s/he was issued an ETA as well. Should check http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta.asp
to see if it is still valid
