Hi all,

My employer got LMIA on 7 Feb'16, receive EE for Federal worker ITA on 20 April'17, due to delay in getting Police clearance, managed to submit application on 12 Jun'16. MY application current status as on 4 August'16 is:

Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents Provided
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed In Progress
Final decision Not Started

My question is my PR application will be processed if my LMIA is expiring in 7 Aug 2016? Do I have to get new LMIA?

Thanks

Since you've already submitted your application it won't matter that your LMIA will expire soon.

As long as your application is accepted as complete, it's fine. If for some reason your application is returned as incomplete, you would then (probably) have to get a new LMIA.

If you want to continue working you have to apply for Bridging Open Work Permit. That's my understanding. Look it up on CIC.

This is not the question I thought the OP was asking, but - if it is, can she still work after the LMIA expires, then you are correct - the OP must apply for the BOWP before the old work permit expires (assuming she has submitted her PR application before then)l.
