Last week I got extension on my open work permit. And the next day I got the LMIA points. After 2 days I got ITA under CEC so preparing to file that.

My questions are:

1. Do I required to work for LMIA employer if there is no contact/start date etc?
2. I have open work permit, do i still need to apply for close work permit based on LMIA?
3. Can I work for any other employer since I have Open work visa but that won't effect my LMIA point or PR application?

Although I am not planning to change employer but since I have open work permit, I am getting other options with better pay.

Thanks in Advance!

You want to stay with your LMIA employer until you have PR if you are relying on the 50 points. If you leave your employer, IRCC may take the points away and refuse PR since you have insufficient points.

Even though I have an open work permit on top of LMIA points.

Do you need the 50 job offer points to be above the draw cut off? If so, then you want to stay with the employer until PR or IRCC may say you are not entitled to the points since you've changed employers.

Under what category you applied lmia and wheb?
I applied in high wage-pr support back in aug 2024, no response yet.
