I am so confused! I am living in canada(citizen) and own property, hubby is in the US, trying to sell our house etc. Have 1 dependent child living here with me. Working on the paperwork to sponsor DH for a PR card. Will our daughter who is here witb me be required to be on the application even though she is here in Canada and is a citizen? Do we have to applu outland or inland? Does he have to move her immediately upon getting approval to come to Canada or can he remain in the US til he sells the house?

This is all so confusing becauae are so many variations ans the cic site is very vague at times about it

Welcome to the forum!

No, she is counted on your application to sponsor, but she does not go on the applicant's (your husband) form.

If you applied 'inland' your husband has to be in Canada for the whole duration of the application, so based on your post, you will be applying 'outland'.

He doesn't have to move to Canada right away. He must only cross the border and become a 'landed immigrant' (get his PR) before his COPR (confirmation of PR) expires usually the same date as his medical (which is valid for one year).

Ask away, we're here!

Your dependent must be listed in the family information under children. The child must be listed despite child being canadian citizen. Also the child need to be counted toward total number of supporting dependents as well in the sponsorship evaluation form.

The child is not being sponsored but still need to be listed in the sponsorship. Otherwise your husband may be denied PR status due to misrepresentation "omitting" the child from the application.

And in IMM 5481 under 6. B) Every other family member not included above and dependent on you financially whether they are living with you or not. Enter their number in box on the right and provide details on the back of this page.

This is where you provide details about your Canadian child. Such as name, father's name, mother's name, place of birth, date of birth, current address, citizenship, etc.

Thank you it is a bit clearer now and we have filed out the forms just trying to gather other things together so I also need toinclide our 2 other children who are independant of the form just to create full disclosure right? Also how many photos do you suggest? We have ben married 26 years so there can be a lot what is the best amount to submit without being excessive?

Just use your common sense with how much material you send in. Some people send in very little and have no problems. Some people send it a showbox full of photos and chat logs. Since you have been married so long and have 3 children I dont think you need to go overboard on tghe proof of relationship stuff. Show some recent stuff (family vacations) so they dont think you guys have been separated or anything. And also show good proof that your husband and you are moving to Canada permanently, that would probably be something they will be looking for.

No, the Canadian citizens don't require medicals. Only your US husband.
