Hi
I'm a permanent resident living overseas with my Canadian husband.
I understand that's OK as far as my permanent residency status but will it still accumulate towards the time required actually present living in Canada of three years in five for citezenship.
Or do I have to wait until we return to Canada and then accumulate the three year residency required.

I could stay back in Canada while he is abroad but it's lonely and our Canadian home is in a rural area.

I looked on all the web sites but no one seems to have my problem or advice.

Thanks

No - the time spent with your husband outside of Canada will not count towards citizenship.

If you want to qualify for citizenship, you will have to physcially live in Canada for three out of four years (not five years - it's four years for citizenship).
