Hello there...

If you are a live-in caregiver already IN Canada and is planning to have a vacation to the Philippines with an about-to-expire passport and doesn't want to travel to Vancouver or anywhere to have it renewed, you can just renew it in the Philippines upon your vacation. However, you should be aware of how long it will take so as to avoid occurence of problems. I had experienced this situation the first time I had my vacation to the Philippines way back 2010. I successfully renewed my passport, had it in my hand 2 weeks prior to my re-entry to Canada. My valid visa was stamped in my old/cancelled passport. I know my documents were all complete to travel back to Canada but then I got a problem upon my departure which resulted to denied boarding by Korean Air.

To better understand the story behind the incident. Please visit my blogsite @ schatzi79.blogspot.ca

You can leave your comments in there and I'll get back to you as fast as I can.

Thank You!
