I am the principal applicant under the Protected Person category. My spouse, who is outside Canada, received a separate UCI and application number as a family member in my PR application. I am unable to link the application to my online account (GCKey) Could you please confirm the correct category for linking or advise if overseas dependent applications cannot be linked?
i have selected the following;

What did you apply for?
Permanent Residence
Category
Protected Person and Convention Refugees in Canada

and did the following
Application Details
Use:
* Spouse’s UCI
* Spouse’s Application number
* Exact passport spelling
* Total number of family members

or is early to link since spouse not received the bio and medical but principal applicant received the Pre Arrival Service Letter on Feb 2026. Any suggestion would be welcome.

received AOR in October 2024. My spouse received the UCI and application number in May 2025, and I received the pre-arrival letter in February 2026. However, I am unable to link the my spouse application to my current (CGKey) online portal. Has anyone else faced this issue?”

It is not possible. Im same situation. Only can request for her/his notes.

Im not misunderstanding. Im telling is not possible. If you want to know the progress, request the notes. I did that.
Respectfully, the notes are not relevant to my question. I am not discussing application progress. My concern is about linking my spouse’s application to my GCKey account. Kindly review my first post and address the linking issue directly.

Im telling you. Is not possible. Dont try because is not possible. Only you, the main applicant can link your own file. I told you if you want to know the progress, request notes. If not, just wait. There is no other way to do it. And Im like you, spouse and child overseas. I know why Im telling you because I tried it before :/

Since there’s no other option based on your experience, I will send a webform to enquire about the status. I’ll get back to you once I receive a response, whether it’s positive or negative.

I did a research an even asked them during a calling to IRCC. Not possible at least not now with this system.

In this link of canada.ca you can read about it.
Thank you. I now have a clear understanding of my situation under the protected person stream with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
I understand that the principal applicant can link their application through GCKey.

Dependent children who are processed in Canada usually appear under the principal applicant’s file.

A spouse who is residing outside Canada is processed as an overseas dependant.

Applications for overseas dependants are often not eligible to be linked through GCKey under this category.
However, the spouse’s application remains internally connected to the principal applicant’s file. Processing continues even if the application is not visible online.

The spouse will receive direct communication from the responsible visa office, such as medical or passport requests, when required.

Exactly. Hopefully the processes speed up. We have been waiting for 30 months!
