Can someone explain me how the LIMA process look like. How long does it take and what they check in the company.

I was trying to find something online (documents required, processing time...) with no success.

Have you checked the LMIA basics and howto pages?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/hire-how.asp

Here is the direct link to LMIA requirements for employers: http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/higher_skilled/permanent/index.shtml

has someone gone through the process recently. I am interested in LIMA for Express entry purposes only so I would like to know the processing time. Website doesn't say a lot about EE LIMA.

I should have clarified - that is the link for LMIA requirements for employers wishing to make permanent job offers under Express Entry. The description section specifically mentions Express Entry, and goes on to indicate the requirements for FSWP, FSTP and CEC, which all fall under Express Entry now. The processing time is roughly 10 business days.

OK but have you check that link

It doesn't say about processing times and how to apply only for EE purpose. There is more about application for dual LMIA.

Hi MONKUCHA,

Why are you looking for LMIA. With out LMIA what is the score. My employer initiated LMIA process for our collegues which are rejected. I feel it is not so easy to get LMIA, since employer has to advertise job, has to interview persons for that job and has to prove that he is unable to find person and need LMIA for the selected candidate. With out that also I feel there is a chance to get Invitation for applying may be in 2nd or 3rd draw like that.

Well my employer is trying to find somebody for last 3 months and nothing. He needs a person which can use certain solid modeling programs and with certain experience. It is really hard. So I guess he will be able to get LIMA easily. I need to know how long does it take, because if it 10 days only it means that it is a different process than before. I am talking about LMIA for EE purpose only of course.

I think the employers should do the initiative to follow up and follow through with the process. As long as the have the steps to follow they can phone the ESDC anytime. Only employers I believe have the rights to ask ESDC about the status of their application.

I too enquired about LMIA's.
Once the credit card is charged, the employer receives a file number(if everything is ok) Approximately 8 weeks from there.

So, you';re looking at around 4-16 weeks for the whole thing without considering any time for advertising efforts.

I am only interested in LMIA for PR which is for free. My employer doesn't need LMIA to hire someone from outside he wants to support my PR through Express Entry.
As I understand from the website someone posted before, LIMA for PR purposes is for free and it take about 10 days to process (as someone posted before) Of course the advertisement has to be for at least 30 days but he has an add for more than 3 moths alread.

Has any one gone through LIMA of PR purposes only (free one).
