Maybe I shouldn't post it in this part of the forum, but;

When I got my last visitors visa at a ground border, I got a set date I had to leave Canada by. I left yesterday, saying goodbye to my sponsor (sent in app a month ago). The immigration officer said it is good that I the visitors permit in at the airport to show that I am obliging to their rules, but we ran late and was bouncing around and was told we had to find a box in the wall and call for someone. Stupid as heck, so I had to run to my gate. Didn't hand it in.

Soooo, any chance I can notify CIC I have left and followed their rules? How?

Thanks!!

Seems like showing CIC and (posibly CBSA) your [Feb 16, 2014 departure] boarding pass when you come back to Canada could help????

You sent your Outland application in a month ago?

When are you coming back to be with your sponsor?

Don't forget about us!

Oh...and I sincerely hope the fact that you and your common-law partner will now be separated (geographically) until you land, doesn't jeopardize your application. Seems like many people are concerned with any break in cohabitation when not married to their sponsor. ???

Nah...you'll be fine, right?!?! ;)

Shouldn't be an issue since the break has occurred after they applied.

Excellent. Thanks for the information!

Dam you scared me. Grrrr

Also, the visitor permit I got after my work visa only allowed me 2 months.
Like, what was I supposed to do? Stay illegally?

CIC must surely appreciate more that I went to Sweden for a great career position until the application is done which would increase my chances of finding work in Canada (plus I have two tears of working in Canada) and I am not just dragging my feet around in Canada .

I would suggest doing something to inform them that you left. I don't know how CIC/CBSA deals with it, but I know my wife didn't hand in her B1/B2 visa card when she left the US in 2009. When we returned to visit the US in 2014 the American border agent was very displeased and asked "how do we know you haven't been living in the US ever since?". He didn't seem to care that a plethora of stamps in her passport indicated otherwise, so if I were you I'd either mail the card to CIC or at least contact them and ask them how they would like you to approach it.

Called the visa office in Niagara Falls today, the ones that gave me the permit. They said there is nothing I can do, I will have to deal with it when I come back to Canada. For all they know, I could have mailed it to somebody overseas to mail it in for me. Not even my boarding pass would suffice.

I plan on visiting in June, and my plan is then to hand it in, and also bring an employment letter for Sweden saying I have been working for the company since now, and from my land lord that I have been staying at and paying rent for the apartment I am renting in Stockholm.

Any other proof that will satisfy them that I did not stay in Canada? Possibly texts from my sponsor when I was at the gate, when I landed in Sweden and talking abt how we miss each other and when I will come to visit.
