Letter of Genuine and Continuing Relationship - writing on behalf of my wife

Hi

I know several people have asked the same questions about what to write on the Letter of Genuine and Continuing Relationship. But my question is different. My wife isn't very good with English writing. So I am writing this letter and all the answers of the forms for her in English (on her behalf). Is that okay? Do I need her to sign and date the letter in the end? Also, does it have to be a letter or an essay?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I would suggest getting her to write it in the language she is most comfortable with, then get it translated. A certified translator will also include a signed and dated affidavit which will authenticate it a bit more.

Also, something to note, if the applications are in English and there is an interview, they may wonder why she doesnt really know/understand her own answers.

I believe you can sign the forms to be her representative, and they will know that you did the form filling for her thus understanding the language barrier.

I would agree with MadeInCanada. Have her write her own letter in her language, then have it translated by a certified translator. As it is to be her words, her side of the story of your relationship, it would look much better for you to be totally hands off it .

It doesn't have to be an essay, just however long it takes to explain your relationship. Some people only take a page, some take 5 pages, just depends on your relationship.

The same would apply for answer to all the questions in the forms, which are detailed answers then. What a dilemma! I feel like I am back at step 1 of the whole process.
