Hi,
I have more than 5 years of experience in Software engineering (software development).
All my experience certificates mention 'Software Engineer'.

Software engineering is a regulated occupation in Canada. Do I need to obtain license / certification before applying for nomination program?
I have worked all along in software development and would be searching jobs in software development only.

Is there difference between 2173 (Software Engineers and Designers ) and 2174 (Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers).
2173 requires license while 2174 doesn't.
Can I apply under 2174 without the need of license, where my experience certificate shows me software engineer?

Hello Aditya,

It all depends on roles and responsibilities that you provide. There is logically no difference between 2173 and 2174 as both look same as per NOC and not sure to why SINP has differentiated. It is better to apply either 2174 or 2171 as these NOCs are prioritized for IT.
Please check the roles and responsibilities in NOC and google the roles of resp for 2174 and you need to put atleast 15 points of roles and responsibilities

If you have EE profile, go to Saskatchewan Express Entry. You can submit SINP EE now ;D. SINP EE will be processed faster than SINP OID.

question for work experience certificate, i've been running my computer repair and sales business for 9 years now, it's a small business so i also do the work, would this be considered work experience? i'm trying to apply for OID, NOC 2282, what i do fits the description of the NOC number, but what certificate should i provide?
