Hello folks, I would like to ask you guys about your timelines with less complex cases, file-review and short hearings.

My timeline :

Applied in April

Brown paper in June

Considered under less complex case (file review) in August

Submitted supporting documents in mid August

And until now there is no update.

Does it take long like the normal hearings or it should be faster ?

Avg wait until hearing should be faster than regular cases but no exact timeline. Anytime between now and a year is likely.

Great news, I hope you get the positive decision.
I’d like to ask you about something, did they send you from the beginning a less complex (short hearing), or it was (file-review) then changed to short hearing.

Thank you! It gonna be virtual. You can also have the option to do it in-person but you need to submit a request for that which might take a longer time.
Hi!! I have applied for a refugee claim in December and I’m just wondering, how did your hearing go? Also what province are you in? I just want to get an idea about the wait times as I moved to Ontario 2 months ago. Thank you.

Applied in September 2022,

Brown paper November 2022 and submitted Basis of claim together with all the evidences.

Workpermit January2023

Less complex case with short hearing for March22, 2023.

An other letter from IRB says «the member may exercise his or her discretion to decide the claim (My claim)without a hearing once the time period set out in the Refugee Protection Division Rules for the Minister to intervene has expired (i.e., no later than 10 days before the date set for the hearing). This constitutes notice to the Minister under sections 1.4 and 2.1.2 of the Instructions.»

I hope the minister will not intervene that’s my prayer.
