Less complex case short Hearing changed to Regular Hearing

Hello friends,

I was having appointment for short hearing, just 5 days before my scheduled hearing I received a letter with statement “The Refugee Protection Division (RPD) is no longer processing your claims under the Instructions Governing the Streaming of Less Complex Claims at the Refugee Protection Division. This means that you must attend a regular RPD hearing.”

Anyone received same letter before ? Is this because of Minister intervention? Am a bit nervous if my journey going to be complicated.

I would really appreciate if you could tell your experience with same situation.

Asylum approval is based on the individual so pointless to compare yourself to anyone else who had a hearing.

Still waiting for a hearing. It was due to Rule 26 Exclusion – Section E. don’t know why this came into picture.

Hard for any of us to comment. Your lawyer would be the best person to consult. There is a huge backlog of cases.
