legal advise plz?

hi

I am of an african origin, i found a job in hamilton,ontario, for a short term i am staying with a family that were offering a room on kijiji, the landlord have pets,and he is calling of his pets ''NEGRO' i am not sure if that was the pet's name even before i got in there or just teasing me,especially the room i am in have a window view on their backyard where he play with his pets.

he is not friendly looking,and i think if i ask him not to call his pet such an offensive and racist name , a fight might erupt.

is there some authority to report this guy to? is there any authority or special organisation for such problems between landlord and tenants ( subletting)

If there hasn't been an actual dispute - I'm not sure there's anything you can report at this point or any action you can expect will happen if you report him.

If not happy with what someone calls a pet whether intentional or not then would suggest moving accommodation. Better to move than to create a hostile environment and be asked to move at a time not of your choice to become homeless.
