My nephew got a job with a 6 months probationary period. After 7 weeks, he has decided it is not for him. How much notice does he have to give? He is in Nova Scotia... Thanks all

I believe probation time only means that all parties involved (the employer and the employee) can decide to terminate the contract within that time frame without any complexities from a legal point of view. The 2-weeks notice on the other hand is not a legal thing, it is simply considered an appropriate amount of time for the employer/employee to prepare all departure papers and procedure.
