If a question does not apply to me, is it fine to leave it blank?

Always put N/A (not applicable)

Is it fine to do this in black ink as I can't do it on adobe?

yes, as long as you have indicated the question has been answered that its not applicable.

I say this from experience as I had my 1st application returned as they assumed I forgot to answer questions rather than N/A.
