Leaving Canada during the first 3 months

Hi!
I'm from India and plan to land in 2018, after submission of my PhD thesis. Now the thing is that universities in India are unpredictable. They may call me for a viva after 6 months or even after 1 month or 2 months. In case I have to leave Canada during the first 3 months for say 15 days or so, will it affect the date on which OHIP will be activated?

What do mean by "viva"?

short for viva voce, a sort of an interview-style oral examination

You are fine as long as you are not out of the country for more than 30 days of the first 153 days of when you established residency.
