Leaving Canada before the end of inland process

We're at the and of the inland sponsorship process. 12 month has passed and we have passed all the stages before the final letter to land.
Now the situation. The principal applicant (who is in Canada on the bridging OWP and hold a valid multiple-entry visa) has to come to the home country for a short period of time asap. Even if we take the landing appointment today, we'll have like 4 months of waiting before my spouse gets the possibility to go to the home country in a normal way (4 months= waiting for landing+waiting +PR card). This is too long.
In the official guide on sponsorship there is a clause that if PA leaves the country before the process is finalized, the PA might not be admitted back.

So the questions:
1. Are such situations know to the forum people? Like PA left the country and then wasn't admitted back (and the whole sponsorship got cancelled as a result)?

2. If p.1 is a real concern, then is it possible to leave Canada after landing without PR card and then apply for the permanent resident travel document there? Are people allowed to get it before they received their first PR card? In some places on the official site it is said that PR travel document is for those who lost their PR card, which is not the case.

3. What are the approximate processing times for the PR travel document? Is it months like for other visas or faster?

If you can wait until the application is fully finished and then leave. You can apply for a PRTD which processing times are available online. Yes you can get it before first PR.

I think people on the forum warn Inland apps to not leave because entetimh Canada is only guaranteed to PR and citizens no one else.

Yes, once you land as a Permanent Resident, you can't obtain a visa or an eTA.
