Leaving and returning to Canada while Post graduate work permit is in progress

Hi,

I recently got graduated and will be finishing my contract base work term soon.
My student permit is valid till Nov 30, 2017. My Visa is expired and so I have applied for visitor Visa because I need to go to India. I am planning to come back before 25 Nov.
I have applied for Post graduate work permit and processing time for that is 84 days.
On the CIC forum, it is written that if we have valid visitor visa and permit we can make an re-entry but it is risky.
please share your opinions on that.

it is risky!! when did you apply for your PGWP? if it was in July, i would say wait a bit before you go. have you received your visitors visa already? its possible they wont give you more than the validity of your study permit tho'.

if you dont have a work permit, they may ask you at the border the reason for your return since you have finished school

I applied for PGWP and visitor visa last Saturday.
I guess I will not receive any confirmation from CIC till end of Nov.

yeah not until late november or early december. what about the TRV have you received it yet?
