Good day everyone! Just want to know what are the chances of being approve for a Permanent Residency of a Live in caregiver that hasn't met the requirements to be eligible for PR but will apply under the humanitarian and compassionate cases. I have this friend under The LIc program and she will be 4 years here in Canada in July but she cannot complete the 24 months by then, so when she called CIC she was told to just just apply under humanitarian. So what's her chances to be approve? Thanks for the reply! We just need answers about this. :'(

Close to Nil, unless she has a very very good excuse why she couldn't complete the 2 years. Probably a long illness is about the only way and it would have to be documented.

Hi riaivy. Do you know how much time she needs to complete 24 months? I read somewhere we have 3 months extension on our 4 years stay to apply for pr. During my time 2009 I know I will not complete 24 months in 3 years so I consult a free legal clinic in Montreal. Then it change in april 2010 to 4 years. if she still have valid work permit by the time she complete 24 months submit her application and will wait if they accept it without any problems. But once they notice it that's the time she will apply under h&c if her reasons are valid they will accept her pr. Don't judge right away she's not qualified. hope she have time to complete before 3 months is up after 4 years.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. It'll be her 4rt year on July 1 and she still needs 15 days more. With her 1st employer she had 3 months, 2nd employer= 18months this is under her lady employer but her employer divorce so the guy get another LMO and The work permit took 5 months to process. She received her WP april 16 whiCh only gives her 2 1/2 months. So she needs 15 days more.
