Latest Update from CIO

Hello Folks,

I called CIC today , they told me that they have started opening applications packages which reached CIO on July 2nd , with this i expect mine to be opened next week as it reached on July 6th - after this i assume my details will start showing up online as i already have a clinet ID.

Of course it will take some more time after the applications is opened but at least will have some info on it and the wait will be worth it.

Hope this info is helpfull to others who are waiting.

Client ID numbers are only available for students and foriegn workers and some other foriegn nationals who have a legal status from within canada only.

This number is written on the legal document which you have from immigration canada as an authorization to stay legally in canada such as; study permit, work permit, visitor record...etc. If you don't live in canada with a legal status, you don't have a Client ID number and you cannot have it.

u can check status only if you have a client ID and if you are witihin canada

no is - 1-888-242-2100..

U will have a client id only if you have either worked/working in canada or studied/studying in canada.

Hi Reachmenow

Tx a million for that info . My application reached CIC on 7th July.

Another thread in this forum was talking about 10 weeks from date of opening the envelopes to get an acknowledgement ! I hope your info proves to be the correct one !
