is it 2-years program, or 1-year program?

can you please someone clarify with appropriate source-link?

thanks

It is 1 year of full-time employment; for those who were students, the experience must be post-graduation.

I think tomsware means 1 year or 2 year course in school. Also the requirement of being a student is no longer there. It's just 1 year of work in a skilled job and that's it. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm no expert.

I realize that, and my point is the same - as yours, there is no requirement to go to school for CEC class applicants, there is only one rule, that is 1 year of full-time work in a skilled occupation (post-graduation, for those who were students).

If he's asking about the PGWP, that's a different forum...

thanks everyone for kind reply....

almost everyone told me that for CEC, a 2-year master's program is required. was this rule before and recently changed?

now, scenarios are:

1-year master's plus job is enough.

in that case, (apart from work permit benefit), what's the benefit of 2-year master's for CEC category? is it like that for 2-year program, no job offer required?

thanks for your replies in advance.

No, not exactly, that was never required. There were 2 streams - one for people on temporary work permits, one for students who had earned a degree (at least 2 years, didn't have to be a master's) and then worked for one year.

1-year master's plus job is enough.
One year of skilled work experience is the requirement. Degree or no degree.

Education is no longer relevant to the CEC program requirements. It is a pathway to a PGWP and the skilled work experience required for CEC. Not to mention improving the likelihood of a fulfilling and well-paid career.

I should add, if you happen to be in Ontario, and don't want to wait until you work for one year, you can look into the Provincial Nominee program, which does have a program for master's graduates. Not all provinces have this.
