Okay friends, here is my situation :I applied for cec this January, and submitted the NOA of the year 2011 where I only worked for 5/6 months. So, I filed tax for 2012 and got the latest NOA on April 3,2012.but the problem is I have to pay to cra an amount of $2700 approximately which included some dues from even 2010/2011 period. Now my question is whether it is problem If I send the latest NOA without paying these dues. It's not possible for me to pay the money now.will it affect my application when they see that I owe money to the government and haven't paid it so long? I understand they only wanted to see NOA and the money that I should pay does not affect my application for pr. Am I. Correct??

Also since I had two jobs, the amount of total income in the noa is almost 16,000 more than my t4 that I. Submitted. So should I explain that this is because I had two jobs or the immigration folks can figure that out as other income/second job. again does that affect my application ???

i am hoping the seniors here and the experienced here who have gone through similar situation will help me out.

thank you.

No. The NOA is what they are looking for. You will obviously have to pay the due amount but you don't necessarily need to do it straight away.

A quick explanation is the ideal solution re the second job. Personally I would provide the other T4 so they can easily do the math. As long as it all matches you will be fine.

Best of luck.

Out of curiosity, why do you owe so much?

might be a contractual job and was possible his responsibility to pay his taxes to CRA

Assuming you indicated both jobs on your application, it should not be a problem.

But even if the 2nd was self-employed, you should have received a T4A for that.

No I don't include the second job in the application. The reason I owe so much money according to an accountant is because my employer didn't deduct enough taxes from my pay check. That's where I am concerned. I am afraid they will be concerned why didn't I pay the money? I had dues even from last year which was like $280.My income from two jobs were also more for a single person and hence so much dues.

Btw thanks a lot guys for your reply. So I can go ahead and send the email to cic right?

You at least declared the job on the background declaration, right?

So, well... sorry, you already know how it will look - you didn't report a job that you haven't paid taxes for. Not good.

I would suggest, if you haven't already received the AOR, that you withdraw the application and submit a new one.

Even if you have already received the AOR, you may consider withdrawing, because losing the application fee would be better than a judgment of misrepresentation.

Alternatively, you could submit corrected forms with an explanation that on your original application, you were missing one job...

Just out of curiosity, why did you think it "wasn't necessary"?

I thought it was a part time job..so wasn't important. I think that's it I lost all the hopes..my wp is expiring soon too,so will have to leave the country with all dreams shattered. Don't have the will and patience to reapply.thanks anyways.

If your really want to leave, that's OK, but if you don't - have you received the AOR? Because if you have, you could apply for the Bridging Open Work Permit.
