Hello, I am a Canadian citizen and recently got married to my long-term boyfriend from Serbia. I decided to take his last name and legally changed all of my Serbian documents to reflect this change. However, I live in Montreal, where women keep their maiden name after marriage. So I was wondering whether I need to notify the federal and provincial governments about this change, and what the procedure would be? And if I do not, does that mean that I should submit my entire sponsorship application with my maiden name and leave the "name after marriage" field blank?
