For the laptop, they keep having various sales and offers there in Canada and you can get one on the cheap...

as for phones....it is a bit complicated, depends on which phone you want. if you want a top of the line phone like the samsung galaxy s3/htc One X/ iphone 4s etc, you would have to take it on a 2-3 year contract(you are locked in, you cannot change your phone or carrier for the duration) from one of the service providers there (like bell, telus or rogers). (a portion of the price of the phone is absorbed into your payments and you pay less upfront --say $299 for a $700 phone)

keep in mind that unlocked HSPA+ phones (ie those that have no carrier) are EXTREMELY expensive in Canada. So if you dont want to get into a phone contract, it is best to buy a cell phone from Pakistan and use something like Chatr (thats what i will do). they are cheaper here and you can usually pick up second hand phones in excellent conditions.

does it need any unlocking ...i mean for indian phones

yes it will need unlocking and u will nead a converter for voltage and plug socket. also this will limit ur options when selecting a plan as u will have to select from those who offer sim cards fones only...
