Hi,

I am about to apply for my citizenship, and I am not sure whether i should do an IELTS test for my english or not.

I graduated from a university in the UK (Bachelors and masters degrees), but on my certificate, it does not say that the course was done in english. Now obviusly everybody knows that english is the main language in the UK, but since thats is requirement by CIC , do you think I should go and take an IELTS test just in case and send that with my application?

i have a full time job in canada as well.

If you do not have medium of study cert or credential evaluation done for your degree then you MUST take English exam .i basically disregard the whole thing as I have degree and transcript with medium of instructions cert as well as Credential eval .

I have my exam on third of April and I don't think English might be an issue for me because if they did not accept those then my application package would have returned to me :)

I have applied with a UK degree certificate but with Transcript mentioned (Lectured in English). They never return my application, e-CAS stating my application is in process now.

You can take CELPIP G-LS for $150 which is CIC designed English language test only on Listening and Speaking. You will need 2H+2H pass mark score.

For my language proof, I sent in a copy of my diploma from a university in the US. That was fine. I imagine the same goes for a university from the UK.

As did I. A diploma earned from a US school suffices the needs.
