ear forum members,

I am planning to land in early July, 2016 in Toronto and have the below queries -

1. Is POF also required by the dependant applicant if he/she is landing on a later date than the principal applicant?
2. The amount to be shown as POF should be as per the latest requirements by cic or the amount should be the one required at the time of my application filing?

Your help would be really appreciated.

Best Regards,
VSG

Thank you Asivad for such a prompt reply. I had 1 more question-

Is there a any info out there on how to declare jewelry while landing? i.e. do we need to get recent recent valuation for any authorised dealer ? or what all documentation is needed for jewelry items?

Thanks in advance,

VSG

Does this mean a principal applicant and the dependent can land separately ? i would be receiving my visa stamped mostly when my wife is out of country. Shall i go ahead and do the landing immediately alone ? My wife would be coming back into the country by the end of september. Can she land alone ?

Yes, the landing can be done separately. However, the dependent applicant cannot land before the primary applicant. All the applicants have land once before the expiry date mentioned on visa, else, whoever fails to land automatically loses the PR status and will have to go through the whole process again depending on the criteria eligibility.

Can I bring the latest bank statement from my bank in India as a POF during landing at the airport?

I plan to get these funds transferred as soon as I open a bank account in Canada.

Dear Asivad, one more question here, me and my wife just finished landing yesterday and we showed the officer that we got around 16000 in my account, and now just wonder do we still need to keep around 15000 CAD until we receive our PR card?
Thanks

Not necessary, once an immigration officer signed and dated on COPR, which means that your permanent residence is finally granted. ;D

All the best
