Basically your spouse will just be sure to have passport with visa attached, and COPR document in hand when they land at the airport. When they get to Customs, they'll tell the officer they are entering Canada to "Land" and show their passport. The officer will send them in to Immigration; an officer there will process the paperwork. There are a couple of questions, verifying the Canada address to send the PR card to, signing the COPR and that's about it. PR card will be mailed later.
The other thing is that the landing immigrant, if bringing any belongings into Canada (or shipping or bringing any later) needs to have filled out a
personal inventory form for those items. If there are items at landing and more to follow, there needs to be two separate lists. The lists are given to customs officers after the landing so that all items included can be imported into Canada without having to pay duty.
