Hi,

We are now looking at booking (refundable) flights to make it home for Christmas as we are expecting to receive the spousal PR mid-December. Fingers-crossed we can move back to Canada in time for Christmas!

The current flight I am looking at has a 1h50 minute layover in Toronto, from 2:10pm to 4pm. Is this enough time to go through the landing process at the Toronto airport, or better to have a longer layover?

Thanks for your advice!

its better to have a longer layover. Sometimes immigration counter can be busy as most of the new students/immigrants first land in Toronto.

Thanks! So do you think 2h50 mins would be enough? Or 3h50 mins?

Definitely go for 3 hours. Missing a flight sucks, especially when you're coming off an international journey. The traffic at the airport can spike unexpectedly and you can easily miss a flight if you don't have at least 3 hours after your first landing.

2 hours is way too short. I would go 4 hours to be safe. It is not the process itself that is long but that the lines can be. When My wife landed at Pearson, everything took about 90 minutes. 12 minutes for the actual landing process and 78 minutes of waiting in the various lines.

My landing took about an hour owing to long lines.

'The longer the better'........why sweat on small stuffs!
