Btw..I only got a stamped COPR back from the immigration officer. Said I would get my PR card in the post

No receipt of the PR card application or Record of landing however. Is that standard?

I wanted to check if they recorded my canadian address correctly ??? Also any suggestions on what Mobile Sim to get? Im only here for a month....

You can do that by just logging on to your ecas and check the address. It should be updated within 4-5days after landing (based on my own experience and a friend's)

Thanks Sotaj

Mine is still showing the old address on ECAS. Guess will have to wait a week. Did you get a confirmation email ?

Btw when are u intending to leave Canada again?

Hope it Help. This is regarding all about driving licence in Alberta.
Pakistan
For clients submitting licensing documentation from Pakistan:
The client may elect to submit an original Regional Transport Office (RTO) or District Transport Office (DTO) letter. The RTO or DTO letter is an OPTIONAL document that allows SIU to better determine if the client can be considered to be an experienced driver or not, especially if the information on the driver’s licence is unclear.
The forensic examination of your Pakistan driving licence will result in two possible outcomes:
• Authenticated: All clients who provide confirmation of previous driving experience—and SIU can authenticate the documents—will receive full credit for their driving experience as per our standard GDL Exemption process.
• Not Authenticated: Clients who provide confirmation of previous driving experience and SIU cannot authenticate the documents will be processed using the Unverifiable Document Protocol. You will be evaluated on whether or not you are considered to be an experienced driver. According to Alberta Transportation, an experienced driver is 25 years of age or older, AND has two or more years of experience driving a motor vehicle.
o If you are BOTH 25 years of age or older AND you have two or more years of driving experience at the time of application, you may complete and pass the following:
 Basic Road Test (BRT)
OR
 Advanced Road Test (ART). If you wish to challenge the ART you must first complete the Alberta Transportation 25 hour Class 5 Drivers Education Course or Insurance Reduction Training Course (Code U). The original Notice of Course Completion must be submitted to a registry office and then forwarded to SIU in order for the ART approval to be processed.
If desired, you may skip the BRT in favour of taking the Driver Education Course first and then proceed directly to challenge the ART.
o If you are EITHER under 25 years of age OR have less than two years of driving experience at the time of application, you may complete and pass the following:
 BRT only, regardless of number of years of driving experience. You will NOT be eligible to take the ART till the requisite two years are complete, even if you turn 25 at any time during the two year GDL period.
A letter of confirmation from the Consulate General of Pakistan is no longer required. Applications containing Pakistani driver’s licences will be evaluated solely on the merits and authenticity of the driving document submitted.
**IMPORTANT: Please ensure you have made copies of ALL documents for your records before you submit them to the registry for GDL Exemption. Copies will NOT be provided at a later date. **

Hello all valued members and qorax sir,

I stay in USA and processed my file form INDIA. My medical and COPR came at USA. I am going to complete my landing in next month and plan to come back in week only.
1) Goods to follow form – B4 – I mentioned smallest to biggest goods of my home that to in categorized way. i.e. Male pants, shirts, winter wear, footwear, gloves, socks than female and kids. Likewise in each category. Is it ok or it might create a chaos during landing?
a. For few electronics items I am not having even serial no. I just put approximate value is it fine?
b. For jewelry – I took its weight from bills than valued at CMP and valued in CAD at the same day exchange rate, except few inherited and gifted items. I am going to take 2 sets of bills and snaps with me. Is it fine?
c. I am going to buy few more jewelry in future should I add that too by weight and CMP to avoid duties later on, or should I skip it? I can manage photo.
d. For food and grocery – I have mentioned lentils, pulses, flour, spices, pickles in GTF list (in small quantities) is it fine?
2) Can I mention my USA made car (but on loan) in GTF list in Miscellaneous category as well in GAL list? I have No Objection papers from bank for three weeks travel to Canada.a
a) I own toyoto Camry 2010 LE, Is it admissible to Canada without any modification? As RIV site suggest it but with some changes like electronic immobilsaiton and daytime lamps. Is it really needed?
3) In my GTF list, 70% items came/manufactured from India and rest from USA (like cars , few electronics items and clotting) so what should l write in country of origin? INDIA/USA (or both)
4) Upon landing what should I answer for how long I would stay in Canada?

Thanks a lot for your continued support.

Primary applicant can land with or without family. Your family can always land at a later date. (before immigrant visa runs out)

The principal applicant is responsible for showing proof of funds for the entire family. When your family lands, they do not have to show funds. Dependents are not questioned about settlement funds. (source)

1) You are responsible for making your own list in an organised manner. (by chaos, I don't understand what you're implying)

1a) It's fine. You just put the serial numbers of IMEI numbers or model numbers. Whatever you can get your hands on. If there is none, just put it's estimated value in CAD

1b) Yes. It's fine to do your jewelry like that

1c) This list is for the Goods you have in your possession. Not for what you are going to buy later. It's advisable not to abuse this facility given by Canadian immigration.

1d) Food items don't go in Goods to Follow list. However, you can put whatever you want in that list. But CBSA are very strict with food items. (Warning)

2) Yes. You can name that car in the list and can bring that car at any later date. There's no time limit.

2a) I dont think so.

3) If you have 10 shirts, 5 of them are made in US and 5 from India, In country of origin you would write USA/India.

4) You can say 'Indefinitely'

1) Bank Accounts
Bank accounts are opened within few hours. However, you may have to go to Service Canada first to get your SIN (which can also be done in few hours. There's no need for appointment)

2) Address
You can certainly give address of your friend/relative. Just make sure you tell your relatives too.

3) You may need to contact ScotiaBank at +1-800-472-6842 / +1-416-701-7200 and talk to them directly.

Thank you XpressEnterprise a lot!

Just a quick question - do I need to mention how many shirts and pants I am carrying or I can just mention "lot" in the quantity column. I mean how deep should I go? e.g. include shaving razors, shaving gel, tooth brush etc are also necessary?? Sorry If I sound 'dumb' but I am really confused on this B4 form filling..

Item # | Description | Country of Origin | Quantity | Price (CAD)

(You can collectively put items in batch. If your whole family is bringing 50 tshirts, write it as one item and put 50 in quantity with collective price)

I landed at Calgary airport on the 7th of May 2016 with my wife and kid for a week only to complete landing process and returned back to London today on 14th May 2016.

Immigration officer was very friendly and didn't ask for settlement funds and the whole process completed quickly. Neither custom officer asked anything. he just took my landing declaration card and we were free to go.

Also, I didn't have any address of Alberta but I put my sister address in Saskatoon for the delivery of PR card and they didn't raise any question of giving Saskatchewan address instead of the address of my nominated province Alberta.

Dear Friends;

Can anyone let me know how to transfer "Goods to Follow". I mean what is the detailed procedure of its shipment from Pakistan to Canada. Do I have to shift it through any International luggage carrier along with the "one copy of Goods o follow". Kindly respond and help.

Hello everyone,

This forum has been very supportive so far.

I have a question:

I got my PR. Will land soon in Ontario. I had TB back in 2009. My medical and everything went smooth and the Doctor said my lungs seem fine and it's cured and all. No sputum test. Nothing.

But I have this condition on my COPR.

Must report for Medical Examination, Surveillance or Treatment, and at specified time and places, provide proof of compliance.

Any one who went through a similar experience or having knowledge in this area. Please help!! Thank you!
