Hi All,

Can somebody share recent landing experience in Toronto? I am planning to land in Toronto in early June.

This will help us a lot to get required preparation done.

Thanks,
-MS

They will ask for canada address to send your PR card. You can get SIN from Toronto airport. Generally food items are not allowed in the customs. Waiting time is around 30 minutes for immigration depends upon the crowds on the landing day. I was under AINP, hence they did not ask for proof of funds. Only passport and COPR is required for immigration.

Dear Landed genius,
I have few long pending questions in my mind.
1. Does the amount of fund we carry to Canada affect the social benefits which we receive?

2. Also, what are the financial social benefits we will receive?

3. Do they pay any amount if we are unemployed? If so, from which month they will start to pay?, How much?

4. Do they pay for new born baby?
Please advice

Are you sure that food items are not allowed?
I read somewhere in this forum that properly sealed/packed food items are allowed.

thanks

Certain food items are not allowed. I would check the cfia website before landing.

We can bring cash upto CAD10000 without declaring in customs. Seeds, nuts, vegetables, fruits, plants, meat products are not allowed.

If you read the CFIA website, certain vegetable and meat products from the United States are allowed.
