Hi,

I have landed with my family last month ,officers just asked how much money you are carrying with you.they have not asked for proof of funds to show them and whole immigration process completed in just 30 to 40 minutes.

Now i realise that i have to mention more money because if now i bring more money to canada to buy property or house canadian government may charge tax?

Can any body clarify my question.

Why would they charge tax? If you can prove that you brought it from another country via the sale of your property or anything else then I don't think you have to pay taxes - Every country wants people to bring money and invest in their country, if this is the case, no one will move money. You just have to prove where the money came from.
