Decision Made & COPR 19/01/2016, Deadline to Land 13/09/2016
Hi All -

We applied for PR for my husband via spousal outland in October. Judging by the processing timeline we expect his PR to be issued much earlier than we expected, and frankly, than we will be ready to move.

Assuming he get his COPR before August when his meds expire, would it make sense for him to fly to Canada and "land"? He can fly back and my mom get courier his PR card to us in Australia.

Or, would it be wiser to be honest with CIC and request an extension for him to land?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Extensions aren't granted. He has to land by the date on his COPR (i.e. "use it or lose it").

So you would go with option #1 (land and then return to Australia).

Cheers thanks...

Hopefully they aren't suspicious that he'll be alone. Tho I suppose families do arrive separately...

I assume option 1 isn't that uncommon.
