Just for the record he is entering the US

Hi,

I called CIC and they told me that I bring all the items that I have now

(such as passport with visa, documents from Canadian Embassy Japan,CSQ etc..)

and tell them that I come for PR visa,so they know what they have to do.Also they told me that

better to come with my husband and bring our marriage certificate, too :)

I will call the boarder office before I go,to make sure!

I appriciate to all of you gave me comments, and it helps me a lot.

Can i add something....I landed Inland at the Vancouver Office......May 20th...it was a nice quick landing and I received my COPR, but when you land Inland you do not get the visa counterfoil in your passport.

This means you cannot apply for a SIN card until you receive your PR card (current times are from 30 days to 12 weeks).......which means without a SIN or work permit you cannot work.

If you land at a POE, you get that visa in your passport and get a SIN number straight away.

If you have all your paperwork.....everything is fine...then flagpole......despite what anyone else has said....i have flag poled before (first work permit)...it was easy....the USA border guards were just fine with it...the Canadian Border guards understood it.....and it will make your life a lot easier.

Just my own personal experience.

Hi,Angelbrat

As you told me,it was very simple and no problem at POE. They know about this PR flagpole and very smooth all the time.
I got visa and they gave me a SIN application, and PR card will be send to me in 1~2months.

Everybody gave me a comment here, thank you!

Although this thread is done... just for others who may be reading this and assuming it is correct, you do NOT legally enter the US upon presenting yourself to a CBP officer at a POE. The decision of the CBP officer determines whether - with or without a valid visa - you will be given entry to the USA.

And really, a flagpoling Canadian? I can see it now...

"Hey what'd you do today?"....
"Went to the border..."
"Why?"....
"Felt like it"....
"What did the CBP officer say?"...
"...what's the purpose of your visit to the US?"....
"What did you say?"
"Not visiting, just wanna go back to Canada"...
"And you came here for what sir?"
"Nothing"...
"So you just wanna turnaround and go back?"
"Yep"
"And is there a reason?"
"Nope"
"Errr....."

LOL...that is just about right...only when the USA border guard asked me the reason I was entering or not entering the USA, I told him the truth,

" I am flag poling to get my Canadian work visa"

In my case, the guard just smiled, nodded stamped a piece of paper and said "well you are welcome to come visit us here any time in the USA ya know"
