LANDED..........

I'll be landing as a P.R. in a few days at the Point Roberts/Boundary Bay crossing. I do still have belongings in the U.S., but I won't be landing with them and plan to bring them with me at a later date. Do I have to fill out the B4 (I don't remember what it was renamed to) for the goods that I will be bringing at a later date and show it to the CBSA officer when I land, or do I just need to wait to fill it out until I actually bring the rest of my belongings across and give it to the CBSA officer then? I plan on taking a trip to the U.S. to get the rest of my belongings (mostly clothes and books) after I already have my P.R. card. Since I'm already in Canada on visitor status and since I'm very close to Point Roberts anyways, it will be easier for me to just land there and travel to pick up my stuff later on when I'm ready.

You need to execute the goods to follow form when you land if you want tax/duty free on the stuff you bring over later.....

Yep, you fill in the form and take it with you to be stamped when you land.

When you get around to bringing the goods into the country, they will need to see your stamped copy.

Alright, thank you.

Which form do I fill out, the BSF186 or the BSF186A? The BSF186A looks like it's more of a continuation of the BSFA186 from the looks of it, so I'm assuming I need to fill out the BSF186.

I will be landing in Halifax Novas Scotia in few days from now. I will like to know best neighbourhood for families. I have used the Internet but would prefer real experience

if you are bringing stuff with you AND will be bringing stuff later on, you need 2 copies of the BSF186 form. One for the goods you are landing with, and one that is checked as "goods to follow". CBSA will stamp both at your landing. You are correct that BSF186A is the continuation form if you need extra room for declaring items.
