I am planning on travelling out of the country this weekend, however because I have a dependant under me, we plan on doing the landing prior to me travelling. I have a valid worker visa, is that enough for me to return back to Canada in a month's time because I will not have my PR card anytime soon. Or is it better that I land on my way back (1 month later) and then have my dependent land separate.

No. You will not be able to use your work permit after landing. You will have to apply for PRTD from outside Canada which takes some time. I would recommend you to land on your way back to Canada. Also, keep in mind that the dependants can't land before you.
I have a valid TRV. still no?

Surprised:cool:? That's is Temporary Residence Visa NOT Permanent Residence Visa. You are Permanent Residence after landing.

I know it sounds stupid, but that is how it is.
