Should I call them. It said 40 days after landing and it has been way longer.

The only reason I worry is that my BC driving licence has expired and I would like to be able to update it.

Anyone have a better estimate of PR card arrival?

You're not alone here friend... I landed on Sep 30th, called yesterday and they said it's still in processing and hasn't been mailed.

So while this isn't the news you probably want to hear, rest assured that there are a LOT of people experiencing this delay, so there is likely nothing wrong with your case.

You should be able to update your BC driving licence without a PR Card - take your CoPR with you to show that you have permanent resident status (although I've never tried this myself obviously, so there could be some problem I'm not foreseeing).

Agree with Quink, your CoPR will be your temporary PR card (once you have your PR card, keep in a safe place your CoPR, you will need your CoPR when you apply for your Citizenship in the future). If you apply for driving license, just show your Passport and CoPR

However you can apply for DL without PR card but you will not receive your photo DL until you present your PR card in person. Initially, they will give you a paper DL without photo.

Icbc don't value the copr as proof now. I've tried several times. It just gets me the temp paper thing. I also need to update my BC health so I'm hoping they take the Copr otherwise it's pretty frustrating trying to settle hete.

Cheers everyone. Merry Christmas

It takes from 60 - 90 days , depending upon the rush.

No need to worry at this stage. :)

I landed October 5 and am in the same boat. I called the call centre and they said they are having a lot of delays right now and I should get it "by January 12." Quite a random date, but we'll see if they're correct.

"A lot of delays" = "it's Christmas and nobody is working".

Landed on October 1, 2015.
No initial PR card received.

The CIC call centre indicated that they haven't started processing October landings yet, that I should check back in mid-February.
Meanwhile, the CIC website indicates a 90 days processing time (excluding mailing time, taking up to 6 weeks).

Hopefully, our landings and PR cards are next to be processed :-X

your landing has been processed, don't worry about that. anyone checks your status it'll show as PR. The card and the processing time for the card is completely separate to the landing process.
for me, since I'm visa exempt anyway, I've been able to fly in and out with just the copr as proof of my status but I can understand the frustration of anyone who would need to get a travel document when the cards should have been issued weeks ago. just hang on, this is the final hurdle in this whole thing and there's nothing to stress about at this stage.

Hi purpleshow,
When you travel with just your COPR and passport, doesn't the officer ask you for the PR Travel document?
I thought you needed that to get in, even for visa-exempt countries.
What will you do if you still to travel after March 15th, since there will be need for a eTA visa for visa-exempt counties?

Starting March 15, 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Exceptions include U.S. citizens and travellers with a valid visa.
