I think they should be following the same procedure as you'll still need to contact them before going over

Hello, People.....
Pls, are there any doctors in the forum?
I will like to network with doctors, both in Naija and landed, to be able to cooperate on the licensing process in Canada.
I like to have ideas about successfully passing the exams both here in Nigeria and in Canada.
Landed seniors, pls, kindly let's know how the environment is as per International Medical Graduate opportunities....
Thanks.

Hi
Thereis a thread by Qorax , "medical doctors how to succeed in Canada" not too sure about the title correctly but you can search for it. Am not a doctor but I hear it's extremely difficult to get the licence particularly in provinces like Ontario. I also heard it's quicker in places like Saskatchewan and most doctors now go there and get a practice licence within 3years. I would advise you go to the province website and make enquiries you can also send the relevant government agency in that province an email asking about the steps and they would gladly respond.

Cheers

Thanks so much, Tinu...
I have heard about Saskatchewan and visited their website. They have a proviso....you have to have been a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada in the last three years prior to your application there! That makes a lot of sense to them, because they found out that people just train in their institution and leave, without any commitment to the Province.
I am actually in the process of source verification of my documents. I need people in Nigeria here for one thing: networking about the MCCEE examinations for study groups and discussion session, review of possible questions, comparing notes on the Self Administered examinations and the occasional shoulder to cry on ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D
The examinations are very expensive. One has to give it the best shot. And I know that since the Medical Profession is very competitive in Canada, the higher your score, the better chances you stand with being noticed by Provincial officers. The problem is, once you pass, you are not allowed to retake the exam for better scores, although, if one fails, there are no limits to how many times one takes the exams.
Anyway, I will try my best. I believe "There ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough, to keep my from getting there''

Don't worry, everything will be okay, after all Rome was not built in a day. I learnt you can get grants for study in some province and since you have already known the exams to take to put you on track, you should think of the kind of lower position in your field you can do initially to raise enough money for your exams. Am sure by the time you get there finding a study group wouldn't be difficult. It is well.

Hi friends,

greetings to everyone

Is there anyone who has applied for his/her parent super visa? Regarding the minimum income threshold required, can one add child benefit received as of income to meet up with the amount required? For a family of four in Canada, to invite in one person ( parent) on super visa, are we expected to have income of $43,292 or $49,102?
Canada a gbe wa ooooo
Thanks

Jovic

The income for the amount of members of the family are below:
1 person $22,229
2 people $27,674
3 people $34,022
4 people $41,307
5 people $46,850
6 people $52,838
7 people $58,827
Each additional person $5,989

What this means is that a married
couple with 2 dependent children
who are looking to bring one set
of parents (2 people) would have a
family size of 6. The minimum
necessary income for this family
is $52,838.

Hope it helps...

@ donwin4real
Thanks for that. I really want to be sure if child benefit received in Canada can be part of this income and if they will use the figure of income before tax or after tax,
I will appreciate further details from anybody in the forum.

I saw the recent amount required at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256ETOC.asp#incometables

Income Table
Effective from January 1 to December 31 2013

Your child or grandchild may use the following income scale to assess their ability to meet the income requirements.

Low Income Cut-Off (LICO)
Size of Family Unit Minimum necessary income
1 person (your child or grandchild) $23,298
2 persons $29,004
3 persons $35,657
4 persons $43,292
5 persons $49,102
6 persons $55,378
7 persons $61,656
More than 7 persons, for each additional person, add $6,268

Thanks
Jovic

Hi all,
Contrary to many expressed opinions here, we got our flight tickets through IOM in naija within 1 week (amazing enh). This may not be the general experience but it also means that it is possible, if you have God working on your case ;D. The lady at the office had actually told my husband that we required at least 3 weeks notice and that getting it within a week was 'impossible', but he persevered and pressed her to at least try. so I encourage anyone pressed for time to not give up but at least give it a try. worst case scenario is that you don't get it, but what if you do?

and to concur with omo naija, we were given change   :D :D ;D ;D

The IOM process is by far the best option. we paid about 920k for a family of 5, as against the regular airline fare of 1.7M which we were given (and this was the cheapest ticket o). This kinda discount is sure sweet :p and the more money you can conserve, the better for you. On top of this, we got free chaperone duty at Germany ;D

;D
I think the problem is the Nigerian element, the boss, boss thing!!! about Nigerians. I believe most times the ticket is ready but they are just going through our usual long protocol in naija. In our case, the ticket had been ready for 2 days (so it only took about 5 days) but they were still telling us it was not ready. We had to press and cajole them to at least call accra to confirm before they reluctantly did and found out it was ready.
So pls dont give up!
