Hello All,

Today I landed in Vancouver. The entire process took less than 30min. I was surprised that I was not asked for any documents apart from "COPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residency" letter. Not even proof of funds or B4 forms.

Well, I am permanent resident of Canada now. Will be running around on Monday to get my SIN, PR card etc.

It's a bit cold winter up here compared to warm weather in Australia.

It's also interesting to know that I migrated to Australia December 14th 2005 and I migrated to Canada on the same day 7 years later. Nostalgic.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year !!!

Cheers,

Congrats buddy ;D ;D . Good to know that you are done with immigration formalities. I think Vancouver airport has no rush when the flight from sydney lands there. My immigration procedure was done in less than 10 minutes. I was the only person in the room at that time.

Dear 2good2btrue:

Thanks for sharing your landing experience. Please keep us posted on further developments / experiences. Wish you all the success in your new country.

Hello 2good2btrue
first of all Congratulations to become a Canadian PR. its really a pleasure to know that someone is landing in Vancouver , where as most of the pplz in the forums are landing towards Toranto or Calgary.
My parents and all family live in Seattle (USA) so i have all intension to land in Vancouver which is an hr drive from there homes in Seattle. and its really difficult for me to find out more information regarding vancouver .
it will be really very helpful if you share your experience in more detail about many aspects like job , housing, and other facilities when some one arrive initially.
My family medical was done on 10th of September 2012 and followup medical of my spause is done on 10th December 2012 and received by manila on 27th December so hoping for any good news in near future.

Many thanks for sharing your experiance and helping others.

cheers.
