landed immigrant status

i was granted landed immigrant status in 1988 and worked for 3 years before returning to ireland. can anyone advise me is this laneded immigrant status is still valid - there was no expiry on the paperwork and i still have my social security number. i would like to return to canada and take up employment again and am not sure if i have to go through the whole visa applications again. any help woulld be very much appreciated. No - unfortunately your status is no longer valid. To maintain PR/landed immigrant status, you must live in Canada two out of every five rolling years.

If you want to return to Canada, you will have to apply again as an immigrant from scratch.
