do you have your receipt with you? on it would be a tracker number. that's what you'll need.

My passport haven't been sent back since I submitted it to Lagos vfs.
I submitted it on 10th of April still data I haven't received any information from them. Is more than 3weeks.
Have anyone experience this challenge??

I submitted my passport using courier service and paid for 1way.ive tracked the parcel it has been submitted to vfs abuja but the vfs is yet to acknowledge through a mail.its 5days already

actually, i think you might get a quicker response using courier. seems like they treat those much quicker than physical submission. but how would acknowledgement be like? would they send an online receipt?

Yes vfs will send you an email of acknowledgement cum receipt with your tracking details as well as fees paid.

Also I would advise you contact the vfs you submitted your passport at, via email or phone with details of the paper receipt you got on the day of submission. Three weeks is long a time, you should have received your passport back by now.
