Does any one have a recent experience with in person application of a visa in LA consulate? How long does it take to get the visa? On their website it says they only do in person every Wednesday and don't say how long it takes to get it. I emailed them with questions two times but no reply. Also, the phone number says it is not for visa's and refers to the website. I have to get an H1b stamping in Vancouver, that's why I need the visa.

I had a weird case, I was asked to come to LA for an interview for my PR but i had also applied for a TRV. Coincidentally I got the email asking me to mail my passport during my LA trip so after my interview i just spoke to the person explaining it wont really make sense to go back and mail my passport since I was already there. So she asked for my passport and about 45 mins later I had my TRV stamped.
I dunno if this is normal procedure but that was my very fortunate case.
