Hi,

My spouse has been asked to bring new police and medical along with photos, his passport and any additional support. What kind of interview is this and what can we expect if it's successful?

If you applied outland, then an interview is normally because the visa officer has some questions or doubts. They may be questioning the genuineness of your relationship. He should bring proof of your communication, any visits, and any financial support since the time you sent in the application. Also include anything you didn't put in the application, but that now you think might have helped, such as extra photos.

Because they are asking for new police certificates and a new medical, it does make it sound like they are fairly sure the interview will be successful.

If you have enough time, order your GCMS notes to see if any concerns have been noted.

Make sure your spouse knows all about your life in Canada. If the interview is successful, the visa officer might say so then, or might say they will send out the results later.

Thanks for you reply. The officer told him it was successful but she could not give him a VISA on the spot because his medicals had not arrived in Ottawa yet. We did not pay RPRF up from but passport was taken at the interview and air waybill was requested for them to send back the passport. It now also says Decision Made on the website. What do you think?

It sounds like the visa will be issued soon. It seems the visa office was waiting for notice that the RPRF had been paid and that the medical had been received.
