Keeping Record of Residence

Hey,
I am wondering how do people who don't work in Canada and are dependable keep record of their residence in Canada. Example would be parents, house wife etc.

CBSA reports, rent receipts/letters from the landlord, EI or any other welfare if one was on it, children are a great excuse for not working as well. You can also use bank and credit card statements.
